THE STYLE

“The Style” was one of the first ever projects Gaia completed throughout her academic career and the first ever photoshoot, the inclusion of this project is meant to give a deeper representation of the growth that Gaia underwent throughout her academic path. This project focuses on macro trend research with the inclusion of visual editorial pieces, it explores the concept of “Power Dressing” and the evolution that women's suits underwent both from a historical point of view and a contemporary fashion perspective. It is conceived as a combined research publication and creative activation, it is an examination of how women's suits transitioned from a marker of rebellion and empowerment to a versatile expression of gender fluidity. The research includes not only an in-depth cultural and sociological analysis, but it portrays how the primary research was conducted through interviews with The Frankie Shop’s sales associates. The project then culminates with a photoshoot directed by Gaia herself in which she aims to interpret the themes of femininity, independence, and contemporary power. This project itself was a milestone in Gaia’s development as a creative strategist, substantially it revealed how research-driven storytelling can be a direct translation of visual communition. In retrospect, she should have delved deeper in the editorial field expanding the concept further, by not using only the photoshoot to illustrate the research finding but challenge those as well.
